To reinstall the server in EW3, copy the most recent backup file on the computer you’re setting up. If you don't have a backup you can create one either from within Ear Works (Administration>Automatic Backup Schedule menu) or using the external backup tool C:\ProgramFiles\EarWorksData\backuptool.exe.
download the main kit from www.ear-works.com/earworks21.exe
run the kit and install only the server components
if you need to use this computer as a workstation and it has no Ear Works Client installed, you would install the client application as well.
download the latest update from www.earworksapps.com/downloads
run the update only for the server components.
Click the Update Server Components
When asked, change the server name to (local)/EARWORKS and click OK
if you installed the client portion then you’d update for the client application as well
restore the backup
open C:\ProgramFiles\EarWorksData\backuptool.exe
Click the Connect button
Click the Browse button to select the backup file you want to restore
If the backup has been created from within Ear Works or through the automatic backup then you'll need to enter the ewsa password in the Password field.
Click the Restore button
Open Ear Works on each computer and link it to the new server (from the Login screen).
