The two biggest hurdles to getting hearing health care to those less fortunate is a lack of infrastructure such as manufacturing facilities, professionals and repair facilities and the administrative power to manage hearing health care in action.
Ear Works Inc. solves the problem and will work with manufacturers to bring hearing to the world using a self-sufficiency model.
Although there has been little interest in this operation as hearing loss is not viewed as a socially appropriate disability and those afflicted often not able to get better education, work and health care, these individuals who may be extremely valuable parts of the solution end up being at the bottom of the social and economic pyramid.
After trips to India and Africa to see this first hand, it is my opinion that proper care needs a system. First, consistent professional hearing care must be available for testing and fitting and maintaining/servicing aids. Manufacturers must be able to distribute quality product that can withstand some of the harder environments in 3rd world countries.
Finally an organized professional charter of ethics must be followed so that care is provided throughout the world. Ear Works4 software will be provided to clinics getting these disparate parts of their profession together in a reliable, functional and economically feasible way. Donations are accepted based on what the clinic can afford and what its outreach plans are, funding and stakeholders. This will not be an opportunity of rich clients to seek a cheap alternative. This is for the small player to get the arsenal to compete with the big player.
If you are a NGO or non-profit organization and want to run EW4 clinically, contact us and we will help you get up and running fast. There is an application process where you tell us about your clinic, demographic, outreach, philosophy, supply chain, back-office admin protocols and your 5 year business plan. This is then compared to your economic statements for your business and key stakeholders and if you qualify for the grant to obtain EW4 software at no charge or a donation, we expect that you will pass that on to another clinic in the future struggling at the beginning much like you did when you applied.
EWglobal also provides all toolkit ingredients for international implementation, but these are not on a donation-basis. Terms and conditions for any toolkit services can be determined on a case-by-case basis.
